TRUCK DRIVER
Rypac Metal Recycling is seeking a full-time truck driver to work out of our Surrey location (11849 Tannery Road).
The truck driver will be responsible for delivering/picking up bins of various sizes from businesses in the Metro Vancouver area.
The selected candidate will operate various a 5-ton, automatic, tandem axle roll-off trucks.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Class 3 Commercial Drivers licence or greater.
- Have a clean ICBC driving record.
- Minimum 1 year experience operating roll-off trucks with various bin sizes and flat decks.
- Knowledge of the Metro Vancouver area.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a professional, outgoing and friendly personality.
- Knowledge of the scrap metal recycling industry is an asset but not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate the truck in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all municipal, provincial and federal requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service including proper bin placement.
- Maintaining a clean and safe vehicle
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections of the truck and report all issues to management for corrective review/repair.
- Work collaboratively with Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
- Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage of $23.00 – 30.00 per hour, depending on experience
