We’re currently seeking to fill our Monday to Friday Transfer Station Equipment Operator position at our Chilliwack Transfer Station. The successful candidate for this position will be energetic, an excellent multi-tasker, and have superior customer service skills. We’re looking for a candidate that’s great at time management, is looking for a permanent position, and has experience operating heavy duty equipment.

Job Description:

In this role, you’re responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of various types of equipment as well as maintaining the flow of the Transfer Station. This job is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment such as material handlers, telehandlers, etc. in compliance with the company’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate shunt truck and trailers when required.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and the worksite are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  • Complete all required paperwork, reporting, other documentation and inspections.
  • Performing the tasks to open and close the Transfer Station according to schedule.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues; may perform minor repairs as required or immediately report any major issues.
  • Maintain the flow of in and out bound waste.
  • Sort and organize inbound loads to determine any waste to be removed from site.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Practice safe work procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

  • Operation of heavy duty equipment (2 years – required)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$33.00 per hour
