Location: British Columbia (main office in Richmond, with additional office in Maple Ridge)

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $60,000 annually
• Commission: Uncapped, scalable with performance

Mitchell Metal Recycling is a fast-growing leader in the scrap and metal recycling industry. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with suppliers while expanding our operations across BC.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Scrap Buyer to join our team. This role is based primarily out of our Richmond office, with some work from our Maple Ridge office and regular off-site visits. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing scrap metal deals while building long-term partnerships that fuel our continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase scrap metals across BC.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers through both in-office communication and off-site visits.
• Accurately grade and price scrap materials in line with market values and company standards.
• Manage deal flow using basic IT tools (CRM, email, etc.).
• Consistently follow up with suppliers and close new deals.
• Must be comfortable conducting regular off-site visits.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Previous experience in the scrap or metals industry is preferred.
• Persistent, driven, and strong people skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence (required).
• Comfortable with basic IT.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a performance-driven, commission-based structure.
