From the shadows we strike, swift, silent, and on a mission. Our prey? The slippery, used fryer oil hiding behind restaurants across Vancouver Island. Without us, kitchens would be overwhelmed by pools of oil, stray fry bits, and rogue prawn tails.
We are Ergo Eco Solutions, and we’re recruiting part-time Ninjas-in-training to help collect and recycle used cooking oil into renewable products. It’s a dirty job but an essential one in the battle for a greener future.

Job Description:
The Recycling Operations Assistant is responsible for receiving, sorting and loading liquid waste material, general yard clean-up and manual labour, and other duties as required.
They will participate in field operations including waste oil collection, bin delivery and maintenance, and rebranding as required.
Other responsibilities include manual lifting, pushing bins, sweeping, and general cleaning throughout the yard to maintain production and cleanliness of the facility.
Help facilitate the processing and delivery of our Oil-ternative ® line of vegetable oil-based lubricants, non-stick agents, and biofuels.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities on the Job:
- Skilled driver that can keep cool in stressful traffic and driving situations.
- Mechanically inclined; operate pumps, motors, generators, pressure washer, etc.
- Dedication to green/sustainable initiatives
Desired Qualifications:
- Must have Class 5 or 7 BC driver’s license; experience driving a 1-ton truck, must provide a driver’s abstract.
- Sufficient strength and stamina to meet physical requirements of the job.
- Positive, helpful, “can do” state of mind.
- Adhere to safe standards and practices; operate equipment within safety guidelines.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and to effectively manage time.
- Experience maintaining and operating work-related equipment including water pumps, vacuum pumps, suction hoses, power tools, etc. is an asset, but not required.
Start Date: July 1, 2025
Starting Salary: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour with flexible 21–35-hour work week, and is dependent on funding from BC Youth in Manufacturing Initiative . We’re willing to work with the successful candidate to build a schedule that suits your needs and ours and that supports a healthy work/life balance.
