Merlin Plastics Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our fast-paced, team-oriented facility in New Westminster, BC.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with routine and preventive maintenance on machines and production equipment
• Learn to diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Support the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new equipment
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
• Conduct basic inspections and troubleshooting to help prevent equipment issues
• Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to ensure smooth operations
• Participate in safety initiatives and help maintain a safe work environment
• Learn about continuous improvement and best practices in industrial maintenance

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of mechanical or technical experience OR education in trades, mechanical, or electrical fields is an asset
• Interest in machine maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, or similar systems
• Completion of LOTO training (or willingness to complete upon hire)
• WHMIS certification (preferred, but not required)
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
• Good teamwork and communication abilities
• Must be comfortable with hands-on, physical tasks
