IZWTAG Day 2024
In April 2024, IZWTAG was proud to welcome almost 200 guests from 50 First Nations communities across British Columbia for our 3rd annual IZWTAG Day Training and Conference! This two-day event is a resource for learning how to get started in zero waste, best practices, funding opportunities, and networking with other communities to see how they run their recycling programs.

A Zero-Waste Technical Advisory Group… But make it Indigenous! 🪶
IZWTAG was founded in 2019 with the aim of assisting First Nations to implement zero waste programs. IZWTAG continues to develop its training opportunities and raises awareness about recycling programs for First Nations. Our annual conference offers zero waste solutions through economic cooperation, fosters inter-community solidarity and support, and bolsters participation in our quarterly training sessions. Also, it’s a great time!

IZWTAG hosts quarterly training events, with our next events occurring in June in Prince George, September in Nanaimo and December in Vancouver. Also, IZWTAG Day 2025 planning is already underway!
