Driver/Swamper

Overview

I am seeking a dependable and physically capable Driver/Swamper to join our team in Delta curbside recycling collection. This role involves operating a heavy-duty vehicle both in a driver sit-down position and passenger stand up . The ideal candidate will have experience in curbside recycling or similar working atmosphere, driving large vehicles and be comfortable with repetitive lifting, while ensuring safe and efficient operation . This role is scheduled 4 days a week in multiple locations across the city of Delta.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicle according to all safety regulations and company policies, including right hand side procedure.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections pre and post trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
• Maintaining preventative maintenance and ensuring interior of cab is clean from garbage and roadway dirt build up .

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with “air endorsement” class 5
• Experience driving refuse trucks or similar vehicles a MUST .
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting safely and efficiently
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to transportation and load handling
• Good communication skills and ability to follow directions accurately
• Physical stamina to handle long periods of driving and manual tasks in various weather conditions
• Reliable work ethic with a focus on safety, punctuality, and teamwork

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
