Summary

Maintenance personnel assist with mechanical repairs on all plant machinery and equipment when required. his is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of site maintenance. The supervisor’s role is to provide effective leadership and direction to ensure the plant operates at its maximum efficiency while maintaining the Production Lines. Supervisors are responsible for the health and welfare of all employees and must provide ongoing training in all areas of the employee responsibilities, including the safe operation of the plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency mechanical maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team on the shop floor.
  • Act as a liaison between the maintenance team and the Lead Maintenance Supervisor to ensure work is prioritized and completed efficiently.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, including scheduling, troubleshooting, and assigning tasks to millwrights.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure personnel are utilized properly and allocated to needed areas
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the plant and proper organization at all times
  • Motivate and deliver company vision to all personnel
  • Provides new employees with appropriate training and instructions
  • Able to discipline personnel immediately when actions are improper, inappropriate or when behavior is corrupt
  • Replace and adjust machine blades/knives.
  • Replace defective parts of machine and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and install equipment. Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.

Requirements

  • Red Seal Certified Millwright is required.
  • Completion of a recognized four-year Millwright apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead hand role preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of human relations
