General Labourer (Sorter)

Cascades Recovery+ is looking for a hard-working and motivated General Labourer/Sorter to join our Victoria Plant Team.

Working as part of a plant team, the job of a General Labourer/Sorter in a recycling plant involves the safe and efficient sorting, grading and placement of recycled materials in their appropriate areas according to the specified requirements and production standards.

We are hiring for full time positions!

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with all company policies and safety procedures.
• Complete all daily housekeeping duties as directed by the Supervisors.
• Perform other duties as laid out by the Lead Sorter and/or Supervisors. Examples of other duties will include yard/plant cleanup and tip wall duties.
• Adapt to an always changing and growing industry.
• Grading and sorting of bulk loads of loose materials.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

• You are responsible to abide by all Cascades Recovery+ Safety Rules, Policies, and Procedures.
• Steel toe safety boots and bump caps must be worn while working.
• Sorting gloves to be worn when on site.
• Safety vest or uniform with visibility strips must be worn while working.
• You are required to work in a safe manner and not to endanger yourself, another employee, or any other person, through reckless unsafe actions.
• You shall not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by Cascades Recovery+.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education

Skills

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to receive and follow instruction.
• Good attendance
• Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in plant environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Plant environment – exposure to dust, wet/rain, hot and cold temperatures, noise, etc.
